Primos:If God exists, then he must be with “great love”

Young desire, strong emotions, we are immersed in the fortress of love that the director has built for us. Whether it’s Mario’s innocent and kind heart under his unruly exterior or Lucas’ seemingly honest exterior with his “dirty thoughts” appearing in his head, it makes you smile. The movie is a pleasure to watch, unlike those gay movies with sad endings (exposing the harsh reality of society and depicting the hard life of gay people), it is like a candy full of love. What is even more surprising is that it is a candy with substance. It explores the relationship between religious beliefs and same-sex love, and instead of intensifying the conflict, the director uses the mouth of his aunt to make his point: “I see love between you, and God is love, and so you are in the arms of God.” There are so many people in the world who practice their own selfishness in the name of religion, and so many people who are compelled to become puppets of those with vested interests behind them and persecute minority groups. Religious beliefs and same-sex love are not opposed to each other. What we need to do is to eliminate prejudice and improve the public’s ability to know. I believe that if there is a so-called “God” in the world, he/she/it must be benevolent and loving.

There are also some interesting moments in the movie that show the different sides of religious people, such as the landlady’s mind when she receives a call for a massage service in the early morning, and the aunt’s return from a boring religious activity, leaning on the bed, accidentally swearing and drinking soda.

The love between Lucas and Mario is created in a house with a religious atmosphere, and I was afraid that this love would be destroyed by the opposition of my aunt and the trouble of the second girl, who is fortunately a missionary with a big heart. As for the second female (Julia), what I liked most was the way the director handled it. In the face of Julia’s frame-up and revelation, Lucas and Mario did not insult and hit back, and the aunt even understood and advised her. Seeing the unbelievable look on Julia’s face and the screams of exasperation, I understood that this was the best comeback. You see, that’s the difference between us and you.

In the end, they finally found a real “God-blessed house” and lived happily ever after.

In the summer country house, the distant cousin and cousin, Mario and Lucas, one unruly, the other quiet as a virgin, two very different teenagers, breaking through the world and religious constraints, from meeting to falling in love.

The dull days are boring and long, but Mario’s arrival instantly ignites Lucas’ dull life and brings joy to Aunt Lourdes’ home, just like a bright sunshine sprinkled into the heart, warm and comfortable.

The tone of the movie, like the Brazilian sun, bright and warm, the two protagonists are durable type, naked kissing scene also shows the beauty of youthful love, yes, God is the embodiment of love, if you like each other, God will hold you tightly in his arms.
